While the 2020 headlines were dominated by ransomware incidents, the nation state attackers didn’t disappear, they continued to attack intellectual property, continued to spy on journalists and dissidents, sought to undermine democratic processes and influence minds, and seek an advantage. Should we be concerned? What can we do? Who are the top threats and what can be done to deter them?

Summary

Ransomware and other extortion attacks on companies dominate the headlines due to the disruption they cause, but has the visible nature of cybercrime resulted in us forgetting about nation-state attacks?

State-sponsored cyber activity has not gone away. With seemingly few disincentives, more countries than ever carry out attacks against commercial entities in parallel with attacks against governments, military targets, political opponents, journalists and dissidents. These attacks are designed to be stealthier and use tools and techniques beyond the capabilities of most cybercriminals.

In this webinar we will discuss nation-state cyber activity and the motivations behind it, gaps in our understanding and how we might address them, and talk about whether and how businesses can defend against such cutting edge attacks.

In this webinar you will learn...

Whether there is a hard boundary between cyber crime and nation-state attacks

Which types of nation-state attacks have been detected recently

Where the gaps in our understanding of nation-state attacks are

What data and which industries are at risk

How organizations can prepare
